How to Calculate Tiles
Divide the room area by the tile area to get the base count. Always add a waste factor — 10% for a standard straight-lay pattern, 15–20% for diagonal patterns, and 5–10% for large-format tiles where cuts are fewer but more material is wasted per cut.
Common tile sizes in India: 2×2 ft (60×60 cm), 2×4 ft (60×120 cm), 12×12 in (30×30 cm). Always buy a few extra tiles from the same batch — color and texture can vary between manufacturing runs.
